In the centre of the square is the famous Astronomical Clock, which is one of the oldest and most complex clocks in the world. This clock is known for its three-faced mechanism that displays the time, the calendar and the phases of the moon.
Another must-see landmark in Prague is the Charles Bridge, which is one of the oldest and most iconic bridges in Europe. This bridge is a perfect place for a stroll and to admire the views over the Vltava River and the city. It took 600 years from the time Charles IV, the first Bohemian king to become Holy Roman Emperor, ordered the construction of Prague Cathedral on Hradčany Hill to its completion. There, in addition to its unique architecture, you can visit the relics of St. Vitus, the patron saint of dancers and entertainment.
Prague is known as the "City of a Hundred Towers" for a reason. From the twin towers of the Týn Church to the Strahov Monastery, you can find an interesting church on every corner.
